Ph.D. Dr. Scott Shalaway is a certified wildlife biologist
and one of the country’s leading authorities on backyard
wildlife. Since 1991, he has published more than 85 articles
on backyard birding in Wildbird and Birder’s World magazines,
as well as dozens more regional publications such as Pennsylvania
Wildlife and Wonderful West Virginia. In 1995, Bird Watcher’s
Digest Press published his book, A guide to Bird Homes.
Dr. Shalaway holds a Ph.D. in wildlife ecology from Michigan
State University and a B.S. in entomology from the University
of Delaware. For nine years he taught classes in biology,
wildlife ecology and ornithology at Oklahoma State University
and the University of Oklahoma.

In 1986, Dr. Shalaway began writing a weekly nature
column that now has a circulation of more than one million
and appears in more than 20 newspapers in nine states,
including the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Since 1992, Scott has hosted a weekly one-hour, radio
talk show about birds and nature.

Throughout the year, Dr. Shalaway speaks to dozens
of civic and conservation organizations on a variety
of natural history, environmental and conservation topics.
